By downloading, installing, accessing, or using NafsAI ("the App"), you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. NATURE OF SERVICE & LIMITATIONS

1.1 What NafsAI IS:

  • A peer support application providing AI-generated conversational responses
  • A tool for general emotional support and Islamic perspective sharing
  • A supplementary resource for personal reflection and spiritual contemplation

1.2 What NafsAI IS NOT:

  • Professional therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy services
  • Medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment
  • Crisis intervention or emergency response service
  • Religious authority or source of official Islamic rulings (fatwa)
  • Substitute for professional mental health care
  • Licensed healthcare provider or medical device
  • Qualified to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition
  • Replacement for human professional judgment or care

1.3 No Professional Relationship:

No doctor-patient, therapist-client, counselor-client, or any other professional relationship is created through use of this App. The App does not provide professional services of any kind.

2. MANDATORY PROFESSIONAL HELP REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Immediate Professional Help Required For:

You MUST immediately discontinue use of the App and seek professional help if you experience:

  • Suicidal thoughts, ideation, or plans
  • Self-harm thoughts or behaviors
  • Thoughts of harming others
  • Severe depression, anxiety, or panic attacks
  • Psychotic episodes or hallucinations
  • Substance abuse or addiction issues
  • Eating disorder symptoms
  • Domestic violence or abuse situations
  • Any mental health crisis or emergency
  • Symptoms requiring medical intervention

3. ISLAMIC GUIDANCE DISCLAIMERS

3.1 Not Religious Authority:

  • Responses may include Islamic perspectives for emotional support only
  • These are NOT official religious rulings (fatwa) or authoritative Islamic guidance
  • The App does not represent any Islamic organization or religious authority
  • Islamic content is for general spiritual reflection only

3.2 Religious Consultation:

For official Islamic guidance, rulings, or religious matters, consult:

  • Recognized Islamic institutions
  • Licensed religious authorities in your jurisdiction

4. USER RESPONSIBILITIES & OBLIGATIONS

  • Provide accurate information when interacting with the App
  • Report technical issues or safety concerns promptly

4.2 Prohibited Uses:

You may NOT use the App to:

  • Replace professional treatment or medication
  • Make medical decisions based solely on App responses
  • Seek emergency assistance or crisis intervention
  • Obtain official religious rulings or authoritative Islamic guidance
  • Engage in harmful, illegal, or inappropriate behavior
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or manipulate the App's functionality

4.3 Age Requirements:

  • Users must be 18 years or older
  • Users under 18 require parental/guardian consent and supervision
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for minors' use of the App

5. DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

5.1 No Warranties:

The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, including:

  • Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of responses
  • Fitness for any particular purpose
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Security or privacy of data transmission

5.2 Limitation of Liability:

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We are NOT liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are NOT responsible for decisions made based on App responses
  • We are NOT liable for failure to seek appropriate professional help
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the App (if any)

5.3 Medical Emergency Disclaimer:

THE APP IS NOT DESIGNED FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCIES. In case of emergency, immediately contact emergency services (999 in UK) or go to the nearest emergency room.

6. DATA PRIVACY & SECURITY

6.1 Local Storage:

  • All conversations are stored locally on your device only
  • No data is transmitted to external servers except for AI processing
  • You maintain complete control over your data

6.2 Data Security:

  • We implement reasonable security measures
  • However, no system is 100% secure
  • You use the App at your own risk regarding data security

6.3 Data Deletion:

You may delete your data at any time through the App settings.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

7.1 Ownership:

The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by NafsAI and protected by intellectual property laws.

7.2 Limited License:

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal use only.

8. MODIFICATIONS & UPDATES

8.1 Terms Updates:

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of new Terms.

8.2 App Updates:

We may update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

9. TERMINATION

9.1 User Termination:

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

9.2 Our Termination Rights:

We may terminate or suspend your access for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Inappropriate use of the App
  • Legal or safety concerns

10. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

10.1 Applicable Law:

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

10.2 Dispute Resolution:

Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NafsAI from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

12. FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

13. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and NafsAI regarding the App.
